I was reading and interesting article that was posted on USA Today's fantasy baseball section and I liked this quote.
"In general, waiting on one player to lift your Roto team to a championship is a long-shot proposition. The strongest teams are assembled over the course of the season, and the most valuable free agent acquisitions are the ones made early in the season, when they have several months, not weeks, to contribute."

Totally agree with this one. Especially with closers. Unfortunately its more luck than anything with those early pick-ups.
I think luck plays a part in it but it's not the only thing. Mad numb chuck (not the wii) skills plays a part too!
